I was lucky to catch up with Doug Lindsay, an expert patient and now working to offer his special skills and experience to other patients in need of help navigating the healthcare system. He was part of the panel at Health Datapalooza: Taking Charge of Your Own Health – Insights and stories from patients/caregivers who have successfully disrupted or redesigned health care.
Here is your very own medical detective building on his own success of researching a novel surgical approach to treat the rare disease that he developed aged 21 that was just not getting better. He found the evidence but struggled to find doctors willing to carry out this new procedure (previously used only in animals from 1923 in Argentina)

Good Evening Dr. Nick,
I am reaching out to you for assistance or direction at least in helping with my parents medical conditions. They are in their 70s and their first language is Spanish but they do speak English. It is a challenge finding the right doctors and knowing the right decisions to make for their health. Is this something that you can help with?
