The benefits of Fasting

Intermittent fasting (IF) continues to be of major interest as evidenced by the number of views and comments. So to follow up on my original vlog on intermittent fasting, I wanted to offer some additional data on this area and the fancy name of Time-Restricted Fasting

First off, like all things to do with you, your body and health, it may not be right for you either because you don’t tolerate it well or it may just not work or provide the benefits that others have found. It’s also important to talk to your healthcare provider – recognizing that in some cases you may find they are overtly negative and unwilling to accept any discussion in which case it might be the right time to find another doctor.

Listen in to hear about a recently published study that tracked a small number of generally healthy individuals for a short period of time monitoring their blood glucose with a continuous monitor pushing 1 group to eat food in a shorter earlier window of 8 and the other group in a longer more typical day, There are limitations but it demonstrated interesting results. Suffice to say – timing matters when it comes to eating and while IF may not suit everyone at a minimum you might want to listen in and find out what you can learn about the timing of your food that might help you
