Hey Stella

Het Stella……..

In this age of misinformation, it is important to add a balance to the ongoing onslaught of attempts by some to de-rail our society and do damage to the people, the country, and it’s ideals.

The latest comes from some well-known quacks and bad actors like Dan Erikson (we’ve met him before for the widely debunked claims on the viral spread and that COVID19 was not as dangerous. It is interesting to note that just 15 short days before he apparently appeared on local news advocating the very same masks that he refuses to wear? The group led by Simone Gold – someone who claims “facts lead, opinions follow” but seems to be forgetting her own mantra. (curiously her two practice addresses resolve to an apartment and a house and listed as an affiliate with Centinela Hospital Medical Center).

But Stella, oh Stella

Stella Immanuel, a doctor who proclaims her medical degree from Nigeria (a claim that clearly worried the medical authorities in Nigeria they were quick to set the record straight hoping to make clear where the nation’s medical community stands on the controversial treatment

No hydroxychloroquine and associated compounds do not cure nor prevent COVID19.

The video was pulled (not everyone agrees and ZDogg makes a good point about reaffirming their conspiracy theories vs combating the content with science) and widely reported by many outlets like the BBC noting that the reactions included the suspension of the President’s son’s account for posting the content

So not arguing the point about removing the media – others have but rather pointing out the bizarre nature of the individuals behind this (and struggling to understand what motivation they have). As noted many times before – you must assess the source of the information being posted to understand motivations.

Their claim are so outlandish as to belie logic. Were hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and Zithromax, so wildly effective the marketing machine behind those items would be pedal to the metal pushing their product. They would be like toilet paper and descend into poor availability while production capacity ramps up.

The virus and the risks associated with it are real. As yourself WWFD (and we do know the answer to that)

  1. Universal wearing of masks
  2. Avoiding crowds
  3. Physical distancing of at least 6 feet
  4. Typical hand hygiene
  5. Avoiding bars or closing them where possible.
