I spoke with
Katie Keating, Client Solutions Professional for IBM Watson Health at the Connected Health Initiative (CHI) Connected Health Demo & Reception at the Rayburn House Office Building
We reviewed what’s going on at IBM Watson Health, where they have come since the Jeopardy challenge which took place 8 years ago in 2011 and the progress they have made and the application of AI to medical imaging, clinical trials and coordination of care.
They applied their technology to the residents of Sonoma County who had been badly affected with wildfires disrupting everything in their community. The county had 13 safety net departments and their community members were moving from one department to the next in a linear fashion. They wanted to offer a more coordinated care to the population but had no mechanism to connect the various services and are able to track individuals and their engagement, following up proactively when appointments are missed and even some insight into why they might have missed the appointment
Listen in to hear more about their coordination efforts and some of the insights and effects they have managed in various communities.

Right information, right place, right time gets the right kind of care
