Celebrating World Whisky Day

Written by on May 19, 2018

In honor of World Whisky Day we head out to Ireland — the Emerald Isle and Walsh Whiskey Distillery, Royal Oak, nestled in the East of Ireland in County Carlow and their special release:

The Irishman 17 year” old Single Cask matured in a Sherry butt

The distillery itself is set on an 18th Century Estate on the banks of the River Barrow and over the Barrow Valley Aquifer, one of the largest underground lakes in Ireland and as the distillery puts it

“an infinite source of the purest water nature can provide for the creation of our world-class whiskeys”

This wee dram marks the Whiskey Distillery’s 17 years in business and a momentous year for the Walsh family with the commissioning of the Distillery at Royal Oak and to celebrate this Bernard and Rosemary Walsh released a highly exclusive 17-year-old expression of The Irishman whiskey that spent 17 long years in a Sherry Butt for 17 years so expect some rich warm tones!
