It was a real privilege to catch
Dr. Elisabeth Rosenthal, (@RosenthalHealth, author of “An American Sickness”) after her presentation at the Healthcare Costs Innovation Summit, put on by West Health, that took place today at the Ronald Regan Building and International Trade Center in Washington DC.
I asked her what the average consumer should be doing to manage their health in our broken  healthcare system – as she puts it

What we should be doing is thinking about our health, but what we are instead thinking is will this bankrupt me

Our mission should be to put health at the forefront with the business value should be the supporting act. The key is getting everyone engaged in changing the healthcare system – we are all users of this system and it is going to take a village to effect change.
The cards I feature in the video come from one of the appendices in the book An American Sickness and I discuss in this post: Wise up to Hidden Healthcare Fees and I have put into an Avery 5371 Business Card Template available for download here
